Zinc Reference Electrode

RROBR TYPE ZINC REFERENCE ELECTRODE

GENERAL

The pure zinc (Special High Grade-99.99% pure) will have a potential to copper sulfate electrode reasonably close to -1.1 volt in most soils. A pure zinc reference electrode can be used effectively to avoid the contamination of the solution in a copper sulfate electrode with change in its half cell potential that caused by backflow of hydrostatic pressure (Because Zinc reference electrode do not contain any porous plug and solution container). Therefore, zinc reference electrode is commonly used inside internally protected steel water boxes, tanks, pipes etc.
