We have skilled personnel and equipment to carry out the Close Interval Potential
Surveys (CIPS) to evaluate the effectiveness of the installed Cathodic Protection system
and underground pipeline’s coating integrity. The coating damage will be determined by
CIPS
DCVG, a direct current (DC) signal is applied to the pipeline and the voltage gradient
in the soil above the pipeline is measured. Voltage gradients, as measured between two
calibrated reference electrodes spaces apart, arise as a result of the current pickup or
discharge at pipeline coating faults location to estimate the coating breakdown size and
position. Physical examination and repair of the pipeline depend the magnitude of the
voltage gradient.
Holiday test one of the non-destructive methods applied on coating to detect
unacceptable faults and discontinuities such as pinholes and voids on exposed
pipeline. If electrical flow detected then the test area is termed as conductive
indicating presence of discontinuities.
The underground pipelineand other buried facilities are subjected to electrical
interference by third party sources. This includes AC and DC interference from other
cathodic protection system, DC & AC interference from railway system, AC interference
from high voltage transmission line and also from power generation industry. These
interferences can cause the severe damage or corrosion of adjacent underground steel
structures. Also will cause electrical shock hazard to human.
The interference study includes manual calculation with strict adherence to NACE
specifications, and also to provide accurate simulation result through state-of-the-art
simulation software.
Once the interference study and assessment is done, will provide the efficient and
effective mitigation method to mitigate or eliminate the AC and DC interference issue.
Bio-fouling problems associated with sea water system are well known in affecting the
system’s performance and in time the growth also influence the corrosion rate when the
material of the structure react with the substances. Mussels, barnacles and other type
of marine growth will attach themselves to the structure and if left unattended, the
buildup can obstruct the structure and block the system. Periodic shut down and
maintenance of the pipeline is time consuming and has high cost impact.
We provide a solution by designing an anti-fouling of electrolytic process on the
surface of the protected structure where metal ions act as anti-fouling agent. It is
suitable to be applied on static equipment that are immersed in sea water like water
pumps etc.
A cold applied tape are manufactured from high performance PVC/HDPE files laminated to a
layer of specially formulated rubber modified bituminous adhesive or high tack butyl
rubber designed for corrosion prevention on field joints, fittings, specialty piping and
repair or rehabilitation. The outer layer of PVC/HDPE to provide good mechanical
strength or resistant from abrasion and cut.
The cold wrapped is fexible and conformable, immediate and aggressive bond to substrate
and at overlap. Long lasting protection. Clean and easy to use by hand or machine. Easy
to repair or replace after inspection. Resistant to dilute mineral acids, alkalis and
salts. Non cracking and non absorbent to moisture. Immediate effect with no curing time.
Compatible with, and can be used to overwrap most pipeline coatings.
